“We will all heal Anni”

June 6, 2007 Kamala Amma's Grace

Dearest Friends and Family,

Today, in the morning, on our way to see Amma, we received a phone call from a dear Ashram-amma, Vidyamma, who had gone to Seattle to meet with Amma there.  She took a token for the Devi Bhava and in her precious time with the Lord, told her all about Anni’s case, all the info that she could remember from the blog, as well as her own first hand impressions from her visit with us in Maryland.  When she was done, and getting up to leave, this saintly lady then asked Amma, ‘Amma will you heal our Anni?”  to which our most humble Lord replied, “We will all heal Anni”.

Can anything be more profound and true?  She verified, in that small sentence, that She had heard all the prayers offered on the countless altars of differing human hearts, and that this collective selfless effort, would carry Grace.

We wept when we heard this, but then, as we were rushing to get to the program before the Lord arrived, we continued hurrying along.  We did not arrive in time for Amma’s entrance.  When we drove up to the temple, we were so happy and pleased to see many of our ashram brothers and sisters waiting to help us.  I was afraid I would finally start to cry, and that the howling grief ever pushing its way around my careful walls, would overcome me in the face of such loving and sympathetic faces.  Praying fiercely that She would not let me wallow in that emotion, we were able to carry on.

Once in, we were struck by the Most Longed for Sight.  Anni did not want to go for darshan immediately, preferring to just sit in the wheelchair, and gaze upon the Supreme Rose of Humanity.  This in itself was Her grace, as Anni had been unable to even sit up for more than 5 minutes, and that with excruciating agony.  She sat the chair for nearly 1 hour.

When we went up for darshan (thankfully, Rishi had remembered to get tokens), Anni got out of the wheelchair on the carpet before Amma.  Anni then crawled to Amma as she was too weak to do anything else..  Amma reached down for Anni and held her for a very long time…tears rolled down Her face.  Then, the Lord took over, and She became our doctor, sole doctor at long last, for Anni.  We did not ask or say anything to Her.  She told us to make a special soup for Anni that Suganandan Acchan has used to help heal cases that were given up as lost.

We were overjoyed, as this action showed us that She was taking total responsibility for Anni, and prior to coming, I had prayed that She would not subject us to anymore doctors and useless tests, when She Alone is the one, within and without, who has the power to heal…that rather, since we have been using the Gerson Therapy to good effect ( but clearly not enough for Anni), that Amma would give us a nutritional answer, to help Anni’s body respond to all the signals calling to health and vitality, awakening her own immune system to fight the enemy…

When the Lord gives a banana to a childless couple, is it the banana that gives the child?  So it will be with our precious soup.  Link went and contacted Amma’s family, who will talk with dear Suganandan Acchan and send the recipe as soon as possible. Thank God he is still on this earth to give this knowledge.  Amma was quite clear that She did not know how to make it, that only Acchan knew.  This again verifies to me the great and necessary importance to the younger generation,  which is becoming increasingly environmentally divorced, to glean from our elders, while we can their earth bound wisdoms for health and healing….When the present generation of grandmothers disappears forever from the face of the earth, all the knowledge they have with them will be gone.  I hope this will inspire some to try to learn from their grandmothers and grandfathers what they can, while they can.  The generation of our parents, was raised with ‘opportunities’ which has meant for the most part, environmental disassociation and a false dependence upon technology and science.  We will hold this recipe when we get it, in sacred trust, for those in the future suffering from this type of sickness…

Amma then asked me to give Anni something for pain.  This resulted in many well meaning people insisting that I give Anni morphine, which she does not want.  Later, Link went back to Amma to discuss the pain medication situation, and Amma made it clear that Anni’s wishes should be respected.  Anni sent word through Link that if Amma would bless the aspirin to relieve the pain, it would be sufficient.  Amma said that She was worried about how Anni’s body could tolerate so much pain.

Kind and loving brothers and sisters had set up a place for Anni to lie down on the balcony, from where, about 20’  diagonally up from Amma, she could see Amma.  Anni lay there very quietly until nearly 4:30 PM , at the end of darshan.  When we came back to the apartment with one of Amma’s brahmacharini’s, Kamalaja, Anni lay down, expressing extreme exhaustion.  She then began sleeping.  Kamalaja had prayed that Anni would get to sleep for at least eight hours.  Anni has been sleeping fairly steadily now, with little coughing, since about 5:30 PM….at about 10 PM she woke and had a bowl of my desperate approximation of what will be the precious soup when we get the recipe., lay down again, slept off, and except for hearing Link’s version of his encounters with Amma has stayed pretty consistently asleep.  She has little coughs, which wake her.  We try to be there at those moments, to offer her a sip of lemon water afterwards, which she takes, then shuts her eyes again….We had planned to go back for the evening program, but the blessing of sleep for Anni is too precious to disturb.  Link went instead, and showed Amma the pain medication that Anni has been taking,  a combination of asprirn, niacin and Vitamin C.

For Link and I, we have no words to describe our state of mind.  How blessed we are.  How grateful we are.  How the Lord has indebted us to all the caring hearts, world over, who love God, and have prayed for Anni.  “We will all heal Anni” She said, and so it shall come to pass, through Her.

Forever, we are in your love and service.

    Namah Shivaya,

I work at Amma’s college in Ettimadai. I am so overjoyed to hear that Amma has now literally taken over Anni’s responsibility. Her actions and words make so much difference to us, even when we know that She is always looking over us without ever saying a word!
Anni has constantly been in the minds and prayers of all connected with Amritapuri ashram and Amma’s words now have indeed come as a special blessing.

My prayers at Her Lotus Feet
