Dearest Friends and Family,
I decided to delete “The Rich Indian Tourist on Holiday” as, in discussions with those who love us, I saw that I was not clearly serving my ideals of Truth and Love in expressing my opinions thusly. I can rationalize that I was, but, it is a round about way, and not that relevant to the goal…
Sometimes we get an irritated itch in the mind, due to environmental factors, and how they skritch upon our own concepts of the ideal.
I feel that I wrote that piece in response to that itch.
The inequality in the world, the social blindness that we all participate in, can cause a ‘rant and rave’ to rise up like a wave in our minds. To witness the despoiling of India’s humane and beautiful cultural fabric by low ideals fueled by consumerism, rankles my heart.
We all have the liberty to feel as we do, yet, we have to make sure that we don’t loose sight of the goal of our lives. Our goal is to touch and sit with all of you in the Truth and Love of our Being, that our lives with Anni surrounded us with. I feel that letter did not live up to this, and was a side-track in response to environmental factors.
I am grateful to my friends who have brave hearts and care to discuss these issues with me. And I always welcome honest criticisms, even if I initially balk.
