Awaiting Amma

June 1, 2007 Kamala Amma's Grace

Dearest Friends and Family,

Amma arrives here in San Ramon in 4 more days.  Anni has picked up a bit since the flight.  At that time, when my dear Friend Sarah saw her, she burst into tears, and later told me, Anni looked like she was half out of her body.  Since then, she has been very weak, but is making a real effort to eat more, which is massively encouraging to us.  Her pain has stabilized, and has not increased.

Maybe I am completely daft, but despite the terrible condition Anni is in, I do not feel at all hopeless.  For the three of us, this whole experience has been a marvel of ‘experiencing’. Therefore, although our hearts are very heavy watching Anni bear the suffering, at the same time we do not feel that Amma will let her leave us all.

Has not the Lord said, that even intense parabdha, like cancer can be healed with intense prayer?  Has not our Anni been surrounded on every side by intense prayer? God, surely, is not deaf.  I do not even know many of the hearts who have cried selflessly for her.  Amma has also said that concentrating on loving can heal anything.

This morning, as I woke, I remembered that Amma is Aishwaryia.  That means She has all these amazing capacities.  Like to make things and herself heavy or light, to be big or small, to know the thoughts of all creatures, to know Herself as All Pervading, and as Lord or All.  When this Being has all these attributes, we cannot worry to much about this nightmarish aspect of life, further, we KNOW that She is MERCIFUL, and will heal our sweet Anni….and that there is a place for JOY on this earth….

We receive many emails, the tenor or which makes us feel that many people feel Anni is dying.  We do not see it so, at all.  Has not much good come out of all of this so far?  Even beautiful music!  Our slates, with everyone have been cleared.  WE are free in our hearts to love all, and forgive and forget all. why do some think that death can be the only immediate ending?  Death waits for all of us, but, I do not think it is Anni’s time now…this experience is giving her much to learn and share…she will be a truely sensitive and wise doctor when this is done, an instrument of God.  We found this wonderful teaching from Abdu’l Baha of the Bahai faith, which we want to share with you all:

The provoking cause of illness – that is to say, the cause of entrance of disease into the human body – is either a physical one or is the effect of excitement of the nerves.

But the principles causes of disease are physical, for the human body is composed of numerous elements, but in the measure of a special equilibrium.  As long as this equilibrium is maintained, man is  preserved from disease; but if this essential balance, which is the pivot ot eh consitution is disturbed, the constitution is disordered, and disease will supervene.

…When by remedies and treatments the equilibrium is restablished, the disease is banished…so long as the aim is the readjustment of the constituents of the body, it can be effected either by medicine or by food.

The majority of the diseases which overtake man also overtake the animal, but the animal is not cured by drugs.  In the mountains, as in the wilderness, the animal’s physician is the power of taste and smell.  The sick animal smells the plants that grow in the wilderness; he eats those that are sweet and fragrant to his smell and taste, and is cured…

It is, therefore, evident that it is possible to cure by foods, aliments and fruits; but as today the science of medicine is imperfect, this fact is not yet fully grasped.  When the science of medicine reaches perfection, treatment will be given by foods, aliments, fragrant fruits and vegetables, and by various waters, hot and cold in temperature.

So, onwards and upwards!  Let us all feel and think positively!  Know that our Amma will heal our Anni!  We know that!  We are so grateful that Anni’s healing will be through Her hands alone, and not the damaging paws of at best, ignorant dodctors!  Keep up your prayers!  Clear your mental scoresheets with everyone, and throw out the slate!

We have come for a Great Joy, to San Ramon.
Loving you all, Kamala Aunty

    Dear Kam, Link and Anni,
We are glad that you made it to San Ramon. I hope that your visit with Amma is all that you hope it will be! As you may know, in the past years I have gone back to my Catholic roots and am now quite involved in my church. I love to read about the lives of the saints that were sent here to help show us God’s love. Anni’s suffering reminds me of some of these stories…A pure sweet soul taking on the pain of the world. I belive that all 3 of you have sweet loving souls that are beyond this existence. We are sending out nothing but positive thoughts and prayers for the ending of both Anni’s suffering and yours. We love you very much!

    Oh Dear Sweet Kamala Mom…
I am on my knees everyday for sweet Anni. I beseech Amma with all the love my soul can give to heal Anni. Thank you for your positive forthrightness, I too am sick with liver disease and have had a painful kidney infection for 3 months, as the pain on the top of my kidney aches; I think of Anni and envision the Ambered light of Amma’s Omnipotent Love focusing on the invasion of her precious body by these strange diseases. I do not think at all that you will lose Anni, Anni lives a couragous path and she encourages me every day. Anni since you will be seeing Mother soon maybe it might inspire you to write another poem to share with us? I love you so my sister’s and brothers.
