i have always believed that it is better to nourish light and goodness than to fight the evil and dark,
in this sense i find all the listed and ideas and suggestions good.
now my first impulse is very contradict to what i say,

to start small clean up campaigns
, as much as amma and the many thousand helpers do,this is a point it seems to me so far not many have touched,
it was as long as i know you all,most beautiful ones, a desire of yours to clean and decorate the ashram ,to bring beauty where ever you went,
with small projects,
arundhati roy says , maybe it is the century of demantling the great and big,the big men, and wars, the big heroes and mistakes, big dangers and risks big ideas and concepts…
maybe it is the time for small wonders,heroes of a new way,
to bring god in the small things of life in to apparence,

maybe if we can join hands and use the money in a way to bring beauty into energy dissonating places, as are everywhere in india, make gardens in dump places,as we did in the ashram with the tulsi spiral!
or organize volantair cleanings…

a living most beautiful planet that needs to be sustained!!!

Perhaps the fund could be used for Circle of Love activities—maybe there are other devotees with illnesses that could use some resources and caring.

If you donate to the ashram you can’t hold them to something specific like music lessons for children due to the tax laws. It goes into general funds (school, orphanage, etc.).

All the above suggestions are admirable. I am touched by the benevolent and caring nature of all the dear friends here. In my opinion it would make nice to make a small shiv mandir (temple) in the name of annika . It can be in a small garden close to ashram in the lap of mother nature such that its accessible to all shiv devotees. It will resemble a symbol of love and genoristy that our Anni had towards mankind and humanity. Anni has merged into divine light and worship of lord shiva would make devotess reminisce sweet memories of our sweet Anni.

Offering the money as music classes to Amma’s orphans is a wonderful idea. I can’t think of anything better which would bring joy into their lives and Anni’s soul! I’ll see you in India mid October and look forward to visiting and making music again with everyone.

I have been reading along and am so sorry for your loss. Comfort isn’t mine to offer, but I do send you a great deal of love, and I’m grateful for the glimpse into such a beautiful life.

Maybe Anni’s original desire to help heal people can be combined with the “music and children and joy”. Music therapy could fit this bill without the ties to the medical world. I am a musician, myself, but not a music therapist… still, I know how important and healing the music can be.

Perhaps the fund could become a scholarship/grant for someone wishing to pursue music therapy as a means of healing and giving joy to the world, particularly children; or it could be used to help bring underprivileged children into an environment of music and joy, whether with a music therapist or Kindermusik teacher or at some sort of school/camp or something else I haven’t thought of.

As Mare said, just an idea that popped into my head.
